About The Position

The Warehouse I position at American Tire Distributors prioritizes and picks products to fill orders and stages them for loading. The role involves loading and unloading delivery trucks, organizing warehouse stock, checking the accuracy of incoming and outgoing products, assisting with inventory counts, and reporting damaged or outdated stock, shipment discrepancies, returns, and inventory shortages. The employee also performs warehouse closing, administrative, housekeeping, and routine facility maintenance tasks. Powered industrial vehicles may be operated safely, with required operator licenses maintained.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and pick products to fill orders, and stage products for loading.
• Load and unload delivery trucks and use equipment to assist with loading and unloading.
• Handle products weighing approximately 50 pounds; manage tires and heavier items by rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
• Enter product numbers, use handheld devices, and place products accurately for inventory purposes.
• Organize warehouse stock by product line and physical alignment, ensuring space is available for overflow.
• Verify quantities, sizes, and types of incoming and outgoing products; report shortages to management and assist with periodic inventory counts.
• Compile and submit reports on damaged or outdated stock, over- and under-shipments, and returns to vendors; segregate defective items from regular inventory.
• Assist with paperwork, administrative tasks, and warehouse closing procedures.
• Safely operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, and maintain required licenses.
• Perform routine facility maintenance and housekeeping, including cleaning parking lots, loading docks, surrounding areas, floors, and bathrooms.
