About The Position

As a Warehouse Generalist at C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will fill in for warehouse positions including Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Clerk, Forklift Operator, Selector, Backhauler, and Porter. You will perform work such as selecting and moving grocery, perishable, and frozen products; replenishing warehouse slots; building, wrapping, and loading pallets; and recording work activity using warehouse systems and equipment. Porter duties include cleaning and maintaining warehouse aisles, product slots, offices, break areas, and restrooms. The role is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on third shift and is full-time. The advertised pay is $19.00 per hour plus a $0.50 shift differential, with weekly pay. The role requires working through the end of the shift, including necessary overtime to meet business needs, and assisting other departments when needed. The work involves frequent lifting, bending, standing, pulling, and pivoting, and may involve working at different heights. The grocery dry-goods environment may range from approximately 50°F to 90°F.

Requirements

One or more years of experience operating material handling equipment.
Strong sense of safety and ability to follow standard safety procedures.
Ability and willingness to follow safe operating procedures for material handling equipment.
Team-oriented outlook and a passion for helping others.
Desire to work with a team to support causes that positively impact communities.
Ability to stand, bend, pull, lift, and pivot continually for up to 90% of the shift.
Ability to frequently lift products weighing 1–60 pounds or more, including from floor to overhead.
Safe handling of sharp objects, including box-cutting tools.

Responsibilities

Fill in for warehouse positions as business needs require, including Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Clerk, Forklift Operator, Selector, Backhauler, and Porter.
Use an order picker to select products for customer orders or bring reserve pallets down to replenish pick slots.
Manually pick product cases from warehouse racks and build pallets for customer orders.
Record daily actions using voice-command systems, pick sheets, Power-warehouse, or a radio frequency computer terminal, as applicable to the assignment.
Fit products onto pallets, place heavier products on the bottom to reduce damage, wrap pallets in plastic, and load them onto trailers.
Operate an electric pallet jack to load pallets onto delivery trucks and compile un-palletized products onto pallets.
Operate a stand-up forklift to put away or lower pallets in warehouse racks up to 46 feet high, at a stated rate of as many as 20 pallets per hour.
Select full-case grocery, perishable, and frozen items, palletize and wrap them, and load them onto trailers.
Use an electric pallet jack or clamp machine to transport pallets off inbound trucks.
Clean and maintain warehouse aisles and product slots, including removing products, cleaning slots with supplies and an electric scrubber, and replacing products.
Clean warehouse offices, employee break areas, and restrooms.
Work through the end of the shift, including necessary overtime, and assist other departments based on business needs.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
