About The Position

As a Box Sorter, you will be responsible for manually processing and sorting boxes to meet PLA's quality standards and production goals. This role involves breaking down, inspecting, stickering, and palletizing boxes. Pay Rate: $18.00 an hour Guaranteed Progression: 50-cent per hour increases at 90 days, 1 year, and annually thereafter for a total of 5 years, reaching the maximum rate at 5 years in this role.

• Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
• Good vision for inspecting boxes and performing sorting tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Breaking down boxes that are not received in a broken-down state.
• Inspecting boxes for damage and assessing their suitability for reuse.
• Slickening boxes acceptable for reuse by covering their barcodes.
• Palletizing sorted boxes efficiently by size.
• Meeting or exceeding daily production requirements, with a standard expectation of at least one pallet per hour.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
• Complying with all PLA policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
• Assisting with other duties as assigned to support and improve overall team operations.
