About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 1. Loads and unloads trucks. 2. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials. 3. Reprint load tags / Stretch wraps products. 4. Locating and moving stock of products onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device for storage or shipment. 5. Continuously moving levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. 6. Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed. 7. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. 8. Lubricates fork truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank 9. Ensures all shipping/warehouse paperwork ticket numbers are recorded accurately. 10. Completes pre-inspections and fill out forms. 11. Inspects bales and identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies. 12. Receiving forklift drivers sign delivery receipts when truck is unloaded. 13. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment. 14. Other duties as directed QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated the ability to perform normal duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Skilled & certified to drive forklift. OSHA requires forklift operators to get certified to prevent unsafe driving and injuries. By ensuring their operators are certified, employers can benefit from safer workplace and more productivity, organizational skills, ability to read a tape measure, at least two (2) years previous forklift experience. Possess basic computer skills and proficient user of our ERP system. Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS At times occasional lifting / carrying up to 25 pounds required with more frequent lifting/carrying of 1-20 pounds. The job requires reaching below waist and knee, and at waist level, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs on rare occasions. More frequent hand/wrist work, keyboarding and mousing, power grasping, and pushing/pulling materials. More frequent walking left and right-hand work and simple grasping and constantly standing on feet for extended periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT Employee must wear protective glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as assigned by tasks. The plant and warehouse areas can be chilly in the winter (above freezing) and hot in the summer (non-air conditioned). The areas are generally clean of debris and clutter, but the manufacturing process generates a fair amount of corrugated dust. Position may require overtime including possible weekends.
