About The Position

The forklift operator will support production, and shipping/receiving operations by operating different types of forklifts. This role involves loading trucks with finished sheet metal, loading cut sheet material onto platforms for manufacturing lines, preparing finished goods for transfer, removing coil loads and other delivered materials, transporting products throughout the plant, supplying production lines with raw materials, emptying scrap tubs, and assisting with inventory and order preparation. Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate forklift driving experience and pass the certification test if not already certified
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing facility
• 6 months-2 years of forklift driving work experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment

Responsibilities

• Load trucks with finished sheet metal
• Load cut sheet material onto platforms for dispatch through the manufacturing lines
• Prepare finished goods for transfer to other departments
• Remove coil loads and other materials from trucks as they are delivered
• Transport unfinished and finished product throughout the plant and supply the production lines with raw materials
• Empty scrap tubs of metal waste
• Assist in taking inventory and prepare orders for shipment as needed
