About The Position
The Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for loading outbound trucks, unloading and putting away inbound merchandise, and performing clean-up duties. This role requires the safe operation of a forklift and adherence to all safety rules. The position is in a physically demanding warehouse setting.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write to follow written instructions and shipping papers, and to fill in corrections and needed information.
- Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
- Must be able to pass our forklift operators test after a normal training procedure.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of building materials is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Loads outbound trucks.
- Unloads and puts away inbound merchandise.
- Pulls customers’ orders from inventory on hand.
- Loads company and customer vehicles with outbound materials.
- Safely operates a forklift to assist in handling of materials.
- Sweeps and cleans warehouse and picks up trash.
- Observes all safety rules (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.).
- Assists in counting inventory.
- Checks in merchandise from receiving documentation.
