Warehouse Forklift Operator - Night Shift
About The Position
This position is for a Warehouse Forklift Operator in a fast-paced environment, responsible for the movement and storage of food/food service products. The role involves using a stand-up forklift to move products to and from storage racks, organizing inventory, and maintaining accurate stock levels. Key aspects include ensuring the quality and safety of food products and supporting the timely fulfillment of customer orders. The operator must adhere to all safety protocols, food handling regulations, and company policies within a high-volume setting. Specific duties include placing delivered pallet loads into designated locations, working efficiently around order selectors, replenishing lower slots while following proper food safety rotation, and pulling full pallets from higher shelves to floor level to ensure pickers always have access to needed items. Products moved generally weigh between 10-50lbs, with occasional items up to 100lbs. The position is available for both Dry and Perishable Warehouses, with varying temperatures depending on the section and season.
Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 100lbs
Responsibilities
- Movement and storage of food/food service products
- Using a stand up forklift to move products to and from storage racks
- Organize inventory
- Maintaining accurate stock levels
- Ensuring the quality and safety of food products
- Supporting the timely fulfillment of customer orders
- Adhere to all safety protocols, food handling regulations, and company policies in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Take products being delivered by the pallet load and put them into their designated locations using a stand-up forklift
- Be observant of order selectors who are quickly filling orders and work around them
- Replenishing the lower slots with product
- Making sure to follow proper rotation for food safety
- Pull full pallets from the higher shelves down to floor level for our pickers
