About The Position

The Forklift Operator / Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and timely movement, storage, and staging of materials to support warehouse and production operations. This role ensures all work order picking, inventory transactions, and material handling activities are completed in accordance with company standards, safety requirements, and quality procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience operating forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, and other lift types).
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of inventory control practices.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Solid math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Good judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in a warehouse environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or work order picking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment and comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, company safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately pick, check, count, and transfer materials based on work orders, production requirements, or shipping instructions.
  • Transport inbound and outbound materials to designated staging or storage locations.
  • Verify inbound, returned, or relabeled materials for proper identification and correct storage location.
  • Perform inventory transactions using warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and/or computers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by supporting cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the warehouse location system and proper material organization.
  • Follow warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Support inventory investigations and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
