About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Assembly Equipment Operator is to put-away built/unbuilt assembly product to the proper location, pick product to be assembled and pick chairs to be shipped. Other responsibilities include: Count received product to verify inventory accuracy. Identify space needs and make appropriate adjustments such as double stack pallets of product to save space using a pallet stacker. Relocate staged material to proper locations. Use RF scanner to make inventory movement entries. Pick product for Cross Dock deliveries. Document picked product for assembly stats by builder. Audit locations for inventory accuracy. Maintain proper appearance of assembly room including: Pallets: Sorted and stacked neatly and safely Inspect and maintain electric pallet jacks and pallet stackers Observe all the safety requirements of Bob’s Discount Furniture All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of distribution center operations
  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize an RF scanner
  • Ability to safely and effectively utilize various equipment such as forklift, cherry picker, etc.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere
  • Solid knowledge and competence on RF scanner
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s
  • Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center
  • Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions
  • Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%
  • Sitting: 5%
  • Desk or phone work: 5%
