About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a lift truck to transport materials between various areas within the warehouse. The role involves performing routine inspections on vehicles and equipment, manually loading and unloading materials, and ensuring all duties are performed in accordance with safety and security standards. Specific tasks may include unloading inbound carriers, verifying product identification and counts, inspecting product condition, and moving products to designated storage locations. For pre-loaders, responsibilities include filling orders by picking and staging product, and inspecting and loading trucks according to guidelines. Truck loaders will inspect trailers, count units, move products into trailers, and secure loads for travel, utilizing scanning devices and computers as needed.

Nice To Haves

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
Forklift Certification preferred.
Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel on a continual basis.
Operates a lift truck all shift.
Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to supervisor/maintenance.
Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transports materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Unloads products from inbound carriers.
Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
Inspects condition of all received product.
Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Receives and reads preload orders.
Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spot utilizing stacking guideline.
Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
Uses scanning device and computer as needed to perform tasks.
Inspects trailers before loading products.
Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the trailer.
Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
Properly secures the load for travel.
