About The Position

This position involves operating a lift truck continually throughout the shift, requiring proficiency in driving backwards and constant attention to the direction of travel. The role includes performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, such as cleaning and recharging batteries. Responsibilities also encompass inspecting product condition for damage or contamination, safely moving and storing product in designated locations, and staging product for outbound loads according to specific requirements. The job also involves emptying waste bins, transporting materials between various locations within the warehouse and to/from trailers, and operating lifting devices. Manual loading and unloading of materials onto pallets or other devices is also a key function. Additionally, the role requires operating a powered air-supplied respirator for cleaning, maintaining departmental housekeeping, ensuring reliable attendance, and adhering to all safety and security standards. All other assigned duties are also part of the role.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write simple sentences.

Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines.

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Basic computer or tablet skills; hand-held radio.
Forklift Certification preferred.
Must be able to complete Holman’s forklift certification program.

Responsibilities

Inspects the condition of product to verify it is free of damage or contamination.
Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Stages product for outbound loads with correct requirements.
Removes and empties waste bins into proper receptacles.
Moves controls to drive lift trucks and transport raw materials, finishing supplies, or finished product to and from the warehouse, trailers, or operating lines.
Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Operates a powered air supplied respirator to perform cleaning functions.
Maintains housekeeping of department/areas.
Ensures reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
