About The Position

The Warehouse Forklift Driver is responsible for operating a lift truck continually throughout their shift, performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, inspecting product for damage or contamination, and safely moving and storing product. This role involves staging product for outbound loads, managing waste disposal, and operating lifting devices to load, unload, and transport materials. The position also requires manual loading/unloading, operating a powered air supplied respirator for cleaning, maintaining departmental housekeeping, and ensuring reliable attendance. All duties must be performed in accordance with safety and security standards.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Basic computer or tablet skills; hand-held radio.
Forklift Certification preferred.
Must be able to complete Holman’s forklift certification program.
Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time.
Ability and willingness to work voluntary/mandatory overtime required during the busy season.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write simple sentences.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.
Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines.

Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product.
Ability to inspect condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality.

Responsibilities

Operates a lift truck continually on shift, proficiently driving backwards and looking in the direction of travel.
Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, including cleaning and recharging batteries.
Inspects the condition of product, verifying it is free of damage or contamination.
Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Stages product for outbound loads with correct requirements.
Removes and empties waste bins into proper receptacles.
Moves controls to drive lift trucks and transport raw materials, finishing supplies, or finished product.
Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Operates a powered air supplied respirator to perform cleaning functions.
Maintains housekeeping of department/areas.
Ensures reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
