About The Position

This role is responsible for various warehouse operations including receiving, labeling, inventory management, order processing, and shipping. The associate will ensure the accurate and safe handling of merchandise, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assist with training new employees. A key part of the role involves operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for equipment operation and material handling.
  • Understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Ability to verify accuracy of contents against shipping documents.
  • Skill in labeling materials accurately.
  • Ability to identify and report missing, lost, or damaged materials.
  • Capability to prepare and process order requests.
  • Proficiency in packing and labeling merchandise for shipping.
  • Experience with scanning labels for shipping accuracy.
  • Willingness to assist with training new employees.
  • Ability to follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
  • Knowledge of US Customs, HAZMAT, and DOT regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with drivers and vendors.
  • Willingness to perform daily housekeeping activities.
  • Ability to report to supervisors at the start and end of the day.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the contents against shipping documents.
  • Properly identify received materials, ensuring they match purchase orders, manifests, or packing slips.
  • Apply appropriate labels to received materials, including barcodes, product identifiers, and handling instructions.
  • Identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor.
  • Manage all merchandise with appropriate care.
  • Prepare and process order requests.
  • Ensure that all merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
  • Scan labels to ensure products are being shipped to the right destination.
  • Assist with training of newly employed workers.
  • Perform tasks strictly as assigned and stop for additional instructions if questions or doubts arise.
  • Comply with Safety and Security Programs.
  • Observe all signs and regulations with US Customs, HAZMAT, and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain facilities, keeping them clean, organized, and compliant with regulations.
  • Be courteous and responsible with all drivers and/or contract vendors.
  • Perform daily housekeeping activities.
  • Report to Warehouse Lead or Warehouse Manager at the start and end of the day for release and timecard check.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely transport, stack, and store materials within the warehouse.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper operation of equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling practices.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
