About The Position

Ryder is hiring an AGV Operator/Technician in Warren, Ohio. This role involves operating and maintaining Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and other powered industrial lift equipment. Warehouse Associates work in clean, organized, and well-run facilities to provide the safest supply chain environment. Products handled include paper products. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years or more Experience Related warehouse experience
  • Two (2) years or more Experience Powered industrial lift experience
  • Ability to: Read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc
  • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Input data into computer system(s) in use
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Work independently and as member of a team
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (s), such as: Stand-up and Sit down forklifts, Cherry Pickers, Pallet Jacks, etc including how to operate and maintain (change battery, recognize common mechanical issues) (advanced level)
  • May be required to operate manual and/or automated other warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line) (intermediate level)
  • Safety Sensitive Position
  • Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Powered industrial truck certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide corrective maintenance to AGV units that have stopped or are not working as expected
  • Manually override or complete the job the AGV unit failed to complete
  • Track issues/repairs and utilize escalation process
  • Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • May be required to perform other warehouse functions
  • May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipment
