About The Position

Mill Creek Commercial is seeking a hands-on, mechanically skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet of concrete grinding, polishing, and coatings equipment running at full capacity. This role is primarily focused on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and small combustion issues on our equipment, servicing company work vehicles, and maintaining accurate logs on all equipment and parts. Warehouse organization and jobsite support are part of the job, but the core of this position is keeping our machines and vehicles in reliable working condition.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills — this is a must-have, not a preference.
  • Hands-on experience repairing small engines/combustion equipment.
  • Previous experience servicing or maintaining vehicles or fleet equipment.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts or willingness to become certified.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining logs and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on grinders, polishers, vacuums, and other flooring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including wiring, switches, motors, and controls.
  • Service and repair small combustion engines used on equipment.
  • Replace vacuum motors, hoses, belts, bearings, wheels, filters, switches, and other wear items.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Keep equipment clean, serviced, and ready for field deployment.
  • Coordinate outside repairs when an issue is beyond in-house capability.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance and repair logs for every piece of equipment.
  • Track parts usage, inventory, and reorder needs for repairs.
  • Keep records organized and up to date for quick reference by ownership and field supervisors.
  • Perform routine oil changes and preventative maintenance on company trucks and fleet vehicles.
  • Monitor fluid levels, tire condition, and general vehicle health.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and inspections; maintain service records.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Organize inventory and maintain a clean, safe warehouse.
  • Load, unload, and prepare tools/equipment for delivery to jobsites.
  • Assist field crews with equipment setup and preparation as needed.
  • Help maintain OSHA-compliant housekeeping standards.
