About The Position

Vertical Cold Storage is hiring a Warehouse Equipment Operator to support warehouse operations and provide timely, accurate service. The role involves operating powered industrial vehicles, typically forklifts and power jacks, to perform assigned warehouse duties. Operators maintain safe equipment use and accurate inventory records, handle and label product according to customer specifications, and assist with housekeeping and other facility operations. The listed shift is 5:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Requirements

Use strong math skills to count and multiply accurately.
Use a non-motorized pallet jack.
Regularly stand and walk for 8 or more hours per day.
Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds.
Frequently bend, twist, stoop, grip, climb or balance, and reach with hands and arms.

Nice To Haves

Prior warehouse or distribution experience.
Prior experience using a forklift and other motorized equipment.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Operate powered industrial vehicles, typically forklifts and power jacks, to perform warehouse duties.
Maintain certifications for powered equipment by following safe work practices and procedures.
Inspect material-handling equipment before use, follow operating procedures, and request repairs as needed.
Use handheld scanners and vehicle-mounted units to record pallet and case locations accurately for inventory control.
Monitor case condition and pallet integrity, and report substandard or out-of-specification items to supervision.
Apply labels to cases or loads according to customer specifications.
Process inventory by stacking, unstacking, restacking, wrapping, and unwrapping pallets and cases according to customer specifications.
Insert or remove dividers between cases as instructed.
Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping and emptying garbage.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks and communicating positively and effectively within the team.
Meet attendance requirements.
Stretch-wrap pallets manually or using a powered machine.
Maintain a safe working environment, follow safety rules and regulations, remain aware of surroundings, and operate machines only when trained.
Support duties assigned by plant supervision to assist facility operations.
Perform other duties as business necessitates.
