About The Position

Provides support to the Food and Nutrition Services warehouse operation and all kitchens districtwide. Responsibilities include unloading and storage of incoming deliveries, picking and pallet building, and delivering bakery, produce and warehouse products to the schools. Responsible for unloading kitchen deliveries into correct storage areas while monitoring food temperatures at all times.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
  • One (1) year of professional work experience
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Must successfully pass the Department of Transportation physical
  • Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
  • Possess and maintain a good driving record
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment such as computers, scanners, radios, cell phones
  • Basic knowledge of math
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with others or independently
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and readily change to accommodate priority needs
  • Ability to operate safely warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, liftgates, dollies, etc. after training
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize proper safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of food and supply orders to multiple schools daily, including monitoring temperatures, placing items in correct storage areas (cooler/freezer), and ensuring safe work practices around kitchen staff. Scanning delivered items per FNS processes for accurate inventory. Deliveries must be made despite inclement weather, potentially including ice and snow removal.
  • Process orders for next-day delivery, including accurate picking and building pallets of dry, cooler, and freezer items for multiple schools. May require working in cooler/freezer for 2+ hours daily. All items must be scanned for accurate orders and inventory.
  • Assist in moving product to correct storage locations in the warehouse using a first-in, first-out process to ensure product freshness and loss prevention. May require work in cooler/freezer locations for 2+ hours daily.
  • Maintain proficiency with all security and safety protocols, including proper handling, monitoring, and delivery of dry, cooler, and freezer food. Required to complete food safety and equipment training annually.
  • Assist in receiving product into the main warehouse, including inspection for quality and correct temperature ranges to ensure food safety. All incoming product must be scanned into the inventory management system.
  • Assist in additional deliveries as needed over district breaks and during the summer to ensure fresh produce availability, support summer meal programs, and provide product during cooler/freezer repairs. May be required to pick up recalled items on short notice.
  • Assist in recovery and redelivery of cooler/freezer product in case of equipment failure districtwide, including restocking product in correct storage areas at the central warehouse.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas to pass regulatory inspections.
  • Perform daily inspections of forklifts, pallet jacks, and vehicles to ensure safe operability and document required maintenance, including temperature control features for food safety. Ensure compliance with DOT, State of Colorado, CCSD regulations, and health department requirements.
  • Assist in completion of monthly inventory of all dry, cooler, and freezer locations or as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
