About The Position

The purpose of this position is to accurately remove all finished product from the production floor while maintaining a safe environment. This position is also required to maintain the production floor with all raw materials needed. The Warehouse Driver is responsible for unloading and cleaning all resin rail cars and must know how to take and read resin silo levels. They must understand and adhere to all Berry Policies, know procedures for production take-away during system outages, and understand inventory inquiry screens for verification purposes. This role is also responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements, and adhering to Food Safety Compliance. The position requires responding to any emergency or potential emergency, maintaining security diligence, and constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices. The driver will assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers, identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems, and initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems. They will also suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Must have been trained and successfully passed the written test and performance evaluation.
  • Must know procedures for production take-away during system outages.
  • Must understand inventory inquiry screens for verification purposes.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract and to multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk.
  • May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must have prior experience operating a Palletizer.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately remove all finished product from the production floor while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Maintain the production floor with all raw materials needed.
  • Be certified to operate a forklift, including passing the written test and performance evaluation.
  • Be responsible for battery care, including charging and watering batteries.
  • Be trained on DC Link and understand the procedures for creating finished goods into the inventory system.
  • Know general aisles for warehousing finished goods.
  • Systematically move product into PROD (Production) and successfully return to warehouse.
  • Unload and clean all resin rail cars.
  • Take and read resin silo levels.
  • Understand and adhere to all Berry Policies.
  • Know procedures for production take-away during system outages.
  • Understand inventory inquiry screens for verification purposes.
  • Maintain and adhere to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Compliance.
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
  • Perform security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.
  • Maintain constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
  • Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
