About The Position

This position involves working in a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment, managing inventory, and operating the warehouse effectively. It also includes interacting with customers on the road, representing the company's core values, and providing superior customer service. The role requires being part of an efficient team, a team player who cares for others, and maintaining a strong work ethic with a "do whatever it takes" attitude. There will be a mix of warehouse duties and driving responsibilities, with the flexibility to adapt to changing needs and potentially fill in for teammates on different shifts.

Requirements

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, squat, bend, walk, and sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Familiarity with computer or picking systems, with a willingness to learn the company's system.
  • Possession of a chauffeur's license and DOT medical card.
  • A good driving record (no more than 4 points).
  • Experience driving a box truck in all seasons of the Michigan climate, and in both rural and urban settings.
  • Familiarity with and ability to use (or willingness to learn) lift gate, pallet jack, and two-wheeled hand cart while driving.
  • Experience using warehouse equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, order pickers, clamp truck, and pallet jack.
  • Knowledge of all warehouse and DOT safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading inbound trucks and determining shipment accuracy.
  • Receiving product into inventory and putting items in their correct location.
  • Completing all paperwork associated with inbound shipments.
  • Preparing product for outgoing shipments via Behler-Young shipment, UPS, RPS, or LTL.
  • Monitoring and replenishing inventory at appropriate levels.
  • Pulling orders as needed to support customer service.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness by sweeping and emptying trash.
  • Maintaining warehouse equipment.
  • Loading and unloading trucks at delivery sites, branches, and distribution centers.
  • Driving a box truck in various weather conditions and settings.
  • Following safety and security policies, guidelines, and legal regulations.
  • Complying with DOT regulations.
  • Performing administrative duties and submitting appropriate paperwork.
  • Learning and developing professionally.
