About The Position

The Warehouse Custodian is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of both the interior and exterior of the warehouse facility in compliance with established standards. Daily tasks include cleaning floors, washing walls, removing debris, and sanitizing restrooms, break rooms, and office areas while promptly addressing ad-hoc spills or accidents. Additionally, the position requires managing cleaning inventory, properly storing equipment, completing maintenance logs, and communicating effectively with warehouse staff. All duties must be executed in strict adherence to safety regulations and sanitation requirements. Warehouse Custodians are asked to work Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM.

Requirements

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Able to work in different temperature zones, including cold environments (i.e., coolers, freezers).
Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, how to use custodial equipment (e.g., mop, broom, vacuum, sweeper/scrubber, etc.).
Strong customer service orientation focused on providing the best in quality and service.
An energetic approach to work, including a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
Able to take and follow direction.
Effective organizational skills, including the ability to work well under time constraints and deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to take initiative.
Able to work well both independently as well as function effectively in a team setting.
Able to demonstrate open-mindedness and flexibility in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure overall cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the warehouse facility, ensuring compliance with established standards as well as safety and sanitation requirements.
Inspect the interior of the warehouse for cleanliness. Ensure routine cleaning duties are performed in addition to addressing ad-hoc needs resulting from spills or accidents.
Clean and wash walls.
Ensure work areas are clean and safe.
Clean floors using proper equipment (e.g., mop, broom, vacuum, sweeper/scrubber, etc.).
Remove debris from all areas (e.g., hallways, restrooms, break room, offices, walkways, equipment paths, work areas, etc.).
Perform trash and recycling collection and removal responsibilities.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and the break room.
Replenish supplies in restrooms and the break room.
Clean office areas.
Inspect the exterior of the warehouse. Ensure routine cleaning duties are performed in addition to addressing ad-hoc needs.
Execute special cleaning projects and assignments.
Communicate with warehouse staff regarding matters related to custodial responsibilities.
Complete necessary logs and other relevant paperwork.
Maintain inventory of cleaning materials by checking stock levels and replenishing as needed.
Ensure proper storage of all cleaning materials.
Properly store and maintain equipment used.
Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
