About The Position

This role is responsible for efficiently planning and assisting in the daily activities related to inventory and supply of material, equipment, and tools for the construction and maintenance of facilities for First Electric Cooperative Corporation and Connect2First Internet, LLC. The position also involves accurately maintaining records of material issued and received, and assisting in the preparation of work orders and other office services.

Requirements

  • Basic mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reading comprehension of technical manuals, power line construction units, and fiber construction units.
  • Ability to provide written communications.
  • Two years experience in accounting or inventory control, OR two (2) years coursework in principles of accounting or related fields, OR five (5) years work experience in purchasing, shipping, or receiving.
  • Must be able to operate portable and fixed lifting equipment (forklift, 2-wheel dolly, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate office machines, calculator, and computer.
  • Must possess current and valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures, shipping and receiving methods, and fundamental knowledge of fiber line construction would be helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors and orders material, supplies, and tools needed to maintain a readily available inventory for construction, maintenance, and service of Cooperative facilities.
  • Ensures the appropriate entries and timely submission of all forms or records associated with daily activities and material records are properly completed, including employee daily time sheets, material transaction forms, staking sheets, mapping locations, control log records, work orders, meter base log, and material transfer records.
  • Issues and receives material, tools, and supplies for operations, maintenance, construction, and retirement of Cooperative facilities.
  • Inspects and verifies the quantity and condition of material received and assists in loading and unloading shipments of material.
  • Disassembles and returns usable retired material to inventory.
  • Makes deliveries to and from associated warehouses, and occasionally to the field to support cooperative employees with unplanned material needs.
  • Assists in the taking of annual inventory of material, supplies, and equipment.
  • Is available for emergency restorations and storm events to ensure cooperative employees have tools and material to support the membership.
  • Participates in safety, training, and employee meetings, complies with all safety regulations, develops safe working habits, and promotes safe working practices.
