About The Position

The Warehouse Clerk I is an entry‑level skilled role responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations through accurate handling of inventory, documentation, and material movement. This role focuses on receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods while maintaining safety, accuracy, and housekeeping standards. Role Overview The Warehouse Clerk I performs routine warehouse tasks under supervision, following established processes and work instructions. The role supports inventory accuracy and material flow and escalates issues or discrepancies to senior staff as needed. This position does not have people‑management responsibility and typically reports to a Warehouse Clerk II, Lead Warehouse Clerk, Warehouse Supervisor, or Distribution Supervisor (S2–S3 / M1).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–1 year of warehouse, inventory, logistics, or stockroom experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic organizational and counting skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow procedures and work instructions
  • Basic computer or scanning device proficiency preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Physical ability to perform warehouse work, including lifting within guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying quantities against documentation
  • Label, sort, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Follow standard procedures for handling and storage
  • Pick materials accurately based on pick lists or system instructions
  • Pack and stage orders for shipment using proper materials and methods
  • Ensure correct labeling and documentation for outbound shipments
  • Support routine inventory movements and transactions
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution
  • Maintain accurate records in warehouse systems or logs
  • Prepare basic shipping documentation and labels as instructed
  • Assist with loading and staging shipments for carrier pickup
  • Follow established shipping procedures and schedules
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and material‑handling guidelines
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment issues
  • Use basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts) as trained
  • Follow operating and safety guidelines for equipment use
  • Coordinate with trained operators for powered equipment as required
  • Work effectively with warehouse, logistics, and operations team members
  • Respond to direction and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
  • Communicate status, concerns, or issues clearly
  • Learn warehouse processes, inventory systems, and safety practices
  • Participate in required training and onboarding activities
  • Apply feedback to improve accuracy, speed, and reliability
