About The Position

The warehouse clerk position is responsible for transferring inventory; assisting customers at the will-call window; answering telephone calls; entering data; performing clerical duties; processing bills of lading; and providing forklift drivers with necessary information for product movement; order processing and inventory control; monitoring and verifying quality assurance hold inventory on a daily basis. Duties and Responsibilities: Receive in purchase orders, transfer raw material from the warehouse to the plant, and allocate finished goods to pick tickets within the SAP system. Investigate and correct inventory errors and notify supervisors of any discrepancies. Log receipts into the product report by verifying amounts, product code dates and product numbers entering data into the computer system. Prepare and process bills of lading for customer shipments; ensure product availability based on inventory levels prior to the allocation process; investigate and correct inventory errors and prepare handbills for outbound shipments. Assists customers at the will-call window by receiving product and/or packages; notify recipient(s) of package(s) received; direct drivers to appropriate locations for product pick-up or delivery. Receive and initiate phone calls to set appointments for deliveries. Ensuring daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations Ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the food safety and food quality system. Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality issues from occurring. Evaluating hazards, verification of measures and procedures that should be taken to achieve a safe work environment. Works in a safe manner and promptly reports hazards identified in the work environment. All other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of related experience preferred
  • Forklift certified or receive company provided forklift certification within 90 days
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others
  • Must be able to read work documents in English
  • Good understanding of plant quality requirements
