Warehouse Clerk and Metal Fabricator
About The Position
James A. Wheat & Sons, Inc. is seeking a dependable and skilled individual to fill the dual role of Warehouse Clerk and Metal Fabricator. This position involves both overseeing warehouse operations and performing metal fabrication tasks, ensuring effective inventory management and accurate fabrication to support our HVAC installation projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational abilities, proficiency with metal fabrication tools, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Our goal is to expand the Metal Fabrication shop into a standalone business, with a compensation plan directly tied to the growth of that enterprise. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in warehouse operations and metal fabrication preferred.
- Ability to operate metal fabrication tools and equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding role.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies in the warehouse.
- Maintain inventory records and support regular stocktaking activities.
- Prepare materials and components needed for fabrication and assembly processes.
- Safely and efficiently operate metal fabrication equipment, including shears, brakes, and welding machines.
- Fabricate and assemble metal parts according to provided specifications and blueprints.
- Ensure the warehouse and fabrication areas remain clean and well-organized.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet material requirements and assist in adhering to production schedules.
