About The Position

The award-winning Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is currently hiring for a Warehouse & Bookstore Associate with the volunteer program at the Sahara West Library. This position will work in the Donation Warehouse, Sahara West Library, and Volunteer Program. Under direct supervision from the Volunteer Program Coordinator, performs a variety of work in support and operation of the Donation Warehouse, Sahara West Library Bookstore, and volunteer program. Exercises general supervision over Donation Warehouse and Bookstore volunteers in absence of management. Provides operational support, volunteer engagement, event coordination, and sales related responsibilities. Supports daily operations and ensures smooth workflows, excellent customer service, and a positive environment for volunteers and customers.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience working in library, retail, and/or warehouse environments.
Ability to train, motivate, and support volunteers.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
Ability to work quickly and accurately, independently and as part of a team.
Ability to plan and organize work assignments for accurate and efficient results.
Ability to accept and manage change and maintain flexibility.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Skilled in preparing reports, tracking metrics, and maintaining organized records.
Customer Service
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Inventory Systems

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree.
Four (4) years of experience working in library, retail, and/or warehouse environments.
Experience with nonprofit or volunteer-driven organizations and online sales platforms.

Responsibilities

Supports daily warehouse and bookstore operations with efficiency and attention to detail; trains and supports volunteers on procedures, customer service, and safety practices.
Accepts and processes public donations and withdrawn library materials; sorts materials for distribution to library branches, book sales, programs, the online Amazon store, the Sahara West Library Bookstore, third party partners, or recycling.
Maintains inventory organization and records, and ensures supplies are consistently stocked.
Receives, empties, and loads boxes and courier bins of library materials; performs basic maintenance or repair on library equipment.
Lists eligible items for online sale; adjusts pricing based on demand, condition, and market trends; picks, prepares, and packages online orders for shipment.
Ensures the bookstore remains well stocked and visually appealing; coordinates volunteer scheduling to ensure full coverage during open hours.
Supports large scale book sale events, including inventory management, planning, promotion, setup, and execution.
Coordinates materials, equipment, volunteer staffing, and payment systems for book sales events; assists with on-site customer service and sales support during events.
Assists with monthly reporting for volunteer hours, warehouse activity, Amazon sales, and bookstore performance.
Gathers and relays feedback from volunteers and customers to improve processes, operations, and efficiency.
Supports volunteer onboarding, scheduling, and communication.
Performs other duties as assigned.
