About The Position

The Warehouse Automation Merge/Palletizer Process Controller is responsible for the safe and effective operation of warehouse automation machinery. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining conveyor operations, ensuring product sequencing accuracy, and overseeing machinery performance to deliver stable, accurate pallets for shipment. Process Controllers act as key system support, addressing stoppages, troubleshooting issues, and keeping production running smoothly. As a Warehouse Automation Merge/Palletizer Process Controller, you’ll be part of the core operations team, ensuring that the product moves safely and efficiently from picking through to final palletizing. Your work is essential to delivering accurate, high-quality shipments to our customers on time.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older.
  • High school degree or GED.
  • At least 2 years of previous production line or automation experience in a manufacturing or warehousing industry (preferably bottling or food) are preferred.
  • Position may be required to work weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must be able to sufficiently read, write and speak English due to the safety sensitivity of this role.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure product accuracy and quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
  • Must be analytical, technologically competent, and mechanically inclined.
  • Possess good oral and written communication, analytical, and mechanical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-speed machinery and equipment (e.g., high output, high-performance equipment, fast paced production environment, warehouse automation environment, etc.).
  • Experience operating a palletizer (e.g., building pallets, managing pallet changeovers, etc.).
  • Experience reading blueprints and operating procedures (e.g., reading schematics on a machine, understanding theory of operations, product flow, etc.).
  • Experience with computers in a manufacturing setting (e.g., electronic settings, machine speed, gauge pressures, basic troubleshooting, solving faults/alarms, and resetting equipment, etc.).
  • Experience with sanitization (e.g., basic procedures/steps, food safety practices, identifying risks).
  • Experience with minor mechanical repairs (e.g., jams, making basic adjustments to equipment, etc.).
  • Experience with preventative maintenance (e.g., inspecting and maintaining equipment, detecting, and correcting issues before they occur, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and monitor warehouse automation machine center(s), including any GUIs (Graphic User Interfaces), to ensure efficiency.
  • Keep machines loaded with materials, troubleshoot and address equipment stop conditions when needed, expediting repairs by working closely with maintenance.
  • Adjust equipment settings as required to optimize efficiency and maximize case output.
  • Respond quickly to stoppages, jams, or equipment issues to keep production on track.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks throughout equipment and warehouse areas.
  • Ensure pallets are built accurately and securely according to requirements.
  • Perform necessary and required sanitation, quality assurance checks, and ensure that equipment and tanks are clean and free of debris and foreign objects.
  • Maintain a clean work area through good housekeeping practices and adhere to all safety standards.
  • Perform an initial inspection of equipment at the start of each shift.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and autonomous maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Know, understand, and complete all centerlines (CL) and clean, inspect, and lubrication (CIL) points for all equipment each shift.
  • Maintain records/logs and complete all paperwork/documentation associated with start-up, operation (including downtime), and shut-down activities.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to resolve issues or coordinate product flow.
