About The Position

This is a hands-on position responsible for understanding and following all appropriate QA & USDA policies & procedures, complying with SSOP & HACP requirements, and working effectively in a team environment. The role involves accurately picking orders, loading trucks, and providing backup for the Logistics Coordinator. The position ensures the department prioritizes tasks correctly and efficiently, and performs other duties as assigned by the foreman. Key responsibilities include supervising logistics crew activities (shipping, receiving, restack, warehouse management), ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment, collaborating with the Logistics Coordinator on daily activities, adhering to FIFO rotation, maintaining accurate perpetual inventory records with the Logistics Coordinator, Warehouse Foreman, and Department Manager, complying with housekeeping expectations, and working with the Warehouse Foreman on shift transitions.

Requirements

  • Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the role as outlined.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, reach, and sit for 8 hours or the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to operate and use office machines and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to communicate utilizing various office equipment including the telephone, computer, facsimile machine, pager etc.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • College preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Hi-Lo.
  • 3-5 years experience in shipping, inventory control, and materials management.
  • Computer Proficiency (MFG/ PRO, Excel) and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to work with many levels of management.
  • Excellent math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all appropriate QA & USDA policies & procedures.
  • Comply with all appropriate SSOP & HACP requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pick orders accurately.
  • Must be able to load trucks.
  • Provide Logistics’ Coordinator back up in the event of illness or vacation.
  • Must be able to ensure the department is working on the correct priorities in a timely & accurate manner.
  • Supervise the Logistics crew activities, including shipping, receiving, restack & warehouse management.
  • Ensure all customer orders are filled in an accurate & timely manner.
  • Work effectively with the Logistics’ Coordinator on all daily activities.
  • Ensure first in, first out rotation is followed (FIFO).
  • Work with Logistics Coordinator, Warehouse Foreman and Department Manager to ensure the perpetual inventory records are accurate at all times.
  • Comply with all the housekeeping expectations.
  • Work effectively with Warehouse Foreman on the transition from first to second shift activities.
