About The Position

The Gustave A Larson Company, an HVAC/R wholesale distributor, is seeking a Driver / Warehouse Attendant. This role requires a customer service-oriented individual who is nimble, capable of balancing multiple responsibilities, and adept at building positive team relationships. The position involves daily product deliveries in the local area and various warehouse duties. The company emphasizes teamwork, a sense of urgency in serving customers, and a comprehensive understanding of the business, starting with warehouse systems and forklifts, and extending to customer service and branch support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Counter Sales Representative or customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of a Class B CDL
  • Minimum 2 years of forklift driving or warehouse experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, creative, customer-focused professional
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and provides accuracy and timeliness
  • Flexible with changes in work schedule
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Be on-call occasionally on weekends
  • Must Have Your FedMed Card
  • Ability to meet mobility requirements which include walking, standing, reaching, leaning forward, bending, climbing
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to perform or learn the requirements of the job within the assigned learning period
  • Required to accept and follow all safety rules and policies, including the use of all mandated safety protective equipment
  • Agree to take pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Assist the warehouse manager in the operation of daily product deliveries around the local area
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks at both the warehouse and customer locations
  • Operate various forklifts (sit down, Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, etc.)
  • Pull product for Will Calls
  • Organize truck loads to their proper locations upon receipt
  • Utilize RF scanning technology for locating and picking product
  • Stock small parts as needed
  • Serve customers at the Counter in company locations
  • Pull and fulfill orders quickly and correctly
  • Maintain a great safety record by following correct processes and staying focused
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers to maximize space and ensure safety without product damage
  • Coordinate sales efforts with warehouse, counter sales, and inside sales teams
  • Operate and react quickly to customer needs, both internal and external
  • Be proactive and self-motivated
  • Learn and understand warehouse systems and forklifts as part of the training program
  • Learn customer service, will calls, and how to support the entire branch organization
