Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Able to read and speak basic English.
  • Meet and maintain required productivity per hour.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Push/pull up to 250 lbs.
  • Operate a 2-4 wheel handcart.
  • Step safely in/out and operate a company route truck per standard practices and DOT regulations.
  • Perform kneeling, squatting, turning, and reaching (over shoulder height, at waist level, and from the floor).
  • Work in 35 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit environments (per food safety standards).
  • Highly motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pick products accurately, minimize damage, and place items correctly in totes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, including immediate spill cleanup.
  • Keep temperature-controlled areas closed to protect product quality.
  • Complete mandatory monthly training sessions.
  • Handle products carefully to avoid damage; ensure proper pricing and date coding.
  • Follow safety regulations and participate in safety meetings.
  • Assist with unloading trucks and organizing the warehouse.
  • Safely drive and park trucks in the yard for efficient loading/unloading.
  • Start and monitor refrigeration units (reefers) to maintain proper temperatures.
  • Complete Smith Training Systems certification to enhance safe driving practices.
  • Take temperatures of all inbound products, record every reading, document out-of-spec items, and report.
  • Act as a yard jockey (if applicable): move trucks around the yard and into docks; perform safety checks; secure trucks and chock wheels.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by leads and supervisors to support team objectives.
