About The Position

Porter Pipe & Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join their Material Test Report (MTR) team at their Addison, IL headquarters. This role involves picking, packing, and material handling, with a strong emphasis on documentation, order accuracy, and quality verification. Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse order fulfillment, distribution, shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality control, or related operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing documentation, certifications, quality records, inventory records, or material paperwork is highly preferred.
  • Experience with pipe, fittings, industrial products, or related warehouse materials preferred.
  • Familiarity with Material Test Reports (MTRs), mill certifications, quality documentation, or similar product records is a plus.
  • Ability to verify product information, quantities, and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience working within electronic records or databases.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Minimum one year of warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and stage material using forklifts, order pickers, carts, and overhead cranes.
  • Verify product descriptions, quantities, and customer requirements for accuracy.
  • Review, process, and maintain Material Test Reports (MTRs) and related documentation.
  • Match documentation to received materials and customer orders.
  • Package and label materials according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain organized records and support quality and audit requirements.
  • Follow all safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.
