AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Warehouse Associate in their resilient flooring plant in Kankakee, IL. This role is responsible for assembling, loading, receiving, and properly labeling pallets in the shipping department. Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
  • Positive and verifiable work history.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year of experience in a related environment or equivalent training and/or education.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, SOP, and standard work.
  • Shift and schedule flexibility for regular time (any shift including off-hours and/or weekends) and overtime, as needed.
  • Agreement to follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment (safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed).
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to perform calculations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and function in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Following Job Safety Analysis guidelines to assure safe operations.
  • Performing required pre-shift safety checks of forklifts or other equipment.
  • Operating in a safe manner at all times.
  • Participating in safety training.
  • Operating fork and reach trucks.
  • Assembling orders and loading/threading the stretch-wrap machine.
  • Moving picked material from storage locations to the floor.
  • Assembling and properly labeling pallets according to customer specifications.
  • Removing empty pallets and stretch-wrap from racks.
  • Adjusting inventory as necessary.
  • Verifying quantity, SKU, and lot of tile through visual inspection.
  • Picking bulk storage items.
  • Stretch-wrapping all outgoing pallets.
  • Loading trailers and adjusting loading patterns to properly distribute weight.
  • Communicating pertinent issues, including safety concerns, to drivers.
  • Verifying quantity, SKU, and lot on each incoming pallet during receiving.
  • Transferring all incoming pallets to the appropriate end rack or storage location.
  • Manually separating mixed SKU incoming pallets and properly storing material in designated racks.
  • Conducting cycle counts.
  • Operating the palletizer production line, checking equipment and supplies.
  • Operating the dispatcher system (computer) for basic stock inquiry functions.
  • Operating a radio data terminal.
  • Maintaining a clean work area.
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed by management.
