About The Position

Scholastic is Hiring! This is a part-time, seasonal Warehouse Associate position with a flexible schedule during weekdays, specifically from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. The hourly rate is $18.50. Scholastic Book Fairs partners with schools nationwide to host over 100,000 book fairs annually, providing millions of students and families access to affordable educational products and fostering a love of reading.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency (i.e., ordering replenishment) effectively with minimal errors.
Strong team player and the ability to get along with co-workers.
Good verbal/written communication skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

Assist in the production of book fairs by packing metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book product, meeting productivity and quality standards.
Demonstrate proficiency in packing all components and sub-components for all cases, boxes, and displays.
Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy, or quality standards.
Ensure outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition.
Assist in processing returned book fairs by unpacking cases, boxes, and displays.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure book fairs can be properly packed.
Learn and demonstrate basic scanner proficiency for item inquiries and requesting replenishment.
Assist in picking and packing customer reorders.
Maintain a neat, clean, safe, and organized work area.
Perform seasonal inventory production-line resets individually and with co-workers.
Learn and demonstrate proficiency in all Fair Finishing and Assembly functions, including Quality Assurance scanning.
Participate and assist in Physical Inventory functions, including counting inventory.
Participate and assist in conducting Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.
Handle all merchandise carefully at all times.
Ensure warehouse equipment and tools are properly utilized and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or injuries to a supervisor immediately.
Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, handling heavy objects, climbing ladders, and pushing/pulling display cases.
Accurately and timely complete Labor Data Collection Cards.
May operate motorized pallet jacks upon successful completion of training.
Maintain attendance and punctuality as required.
Maintain a courteous and positive relationship with co-workers and customers.
Comply with drug and alcohol-free policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
