About The Position

The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in providing logistical support for the entire warehouse. This position primarily focuses on tasks such as picking, packing, manufacturing, assembly, cycle counting, quality assurance, and housekeeping. Additionally, there will be some involvement in shipping and receiving functions. This is an on-site hourly position and requires a daily presence at our Houston, TX facility. The work schedule is as follows: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, with additional hours during peak times and year-end. RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. For over 80 years, RectorSeal’s customers have depended on us for quality products with excellent value shipped to them in a timely manner. This passion for excellent customer service is why RectorSeal has been growing very fast, and now requires additional shift capacity to meet customer demand.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent or one year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment (in lieu of education).
  • Physical capability to work 8-12-hour shifts, stand, and lifting.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to quality standards, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for job-related tasks.
  • Fundamental math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must have very high-quality standards and degree of accuracy and organizational skills
  • Only candidates authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior warehouse work experience is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards or other ERP systems a plus.
  • Recent experience in Picking and Fulfilling Orders
  • Recent experience operating Cherry Picker/Order Selector, Forklift, and/or Reach Truck
  • Familiarity of use of shipping scanners

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company-established rules, policies, safety guidelines, quality standards, and process documentation.
  • Operate Label Matrix software to design, update, and print high-quality product labels
  • Set up, calibrate and maintain labeling machines to ensure smooth application on various product surfaces
  • Remove old labels and apply new ones with 100% accuracy, ensuring perfect alignment and zero bubbling/ tearing.
  • Conduct frequent visual inspections to catch typos, barcode errors or placement shifts before products move to shipping.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and keep an organized log of labeled batches and remaining supplies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain and upkeep equipment.
  • Collaborate with management to achieve key objectives.
  • Process, pack, and accurately ship orders.
  • Monitor quality indicators to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Accurately process merchandise for customers.
  • Safely move pallets using a pallet jack (occasional operating a forklift).
  • Efficiently handle freight across various functions within the building.
  • Engage in problem-solving and actively contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Foster a spirit of learning and growth as a team member.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Assist in daily shipping and receiving operations.
  • Be available for overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
