AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Warehouse Associate at their resilient flooring plant in Kankakee, IL. This role is responsible for assembling, loading, receiving, and properly labeling pallets in the shipping department according to customer specifications. Requirements

  • Successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
  • Positive and verifiable work history.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year of experience in a related environment or equivalent training and/or education.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, SOP, and standard work.
  • Must possess shift and schedule flexibility for regular time (any shift that may include off-hours and/or weekends), and overtime, as needed.
  • Must agree to follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment (e.g., safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed).
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to perform calculations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and function in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Job Safety Analysis guidelines to ensure safe operations.
  • Perform pre-shift safety checks of forklifts or other equipment.
  • Operate in a safe manner at all times.
  • Participate in safety training.
  • Operate forklifts and reach trucks; spotter truck and TRT experience is a plus.
  • Assemble orders, load, and thread stretch-wrap machine.
  • Move picked material from storage to the floor.
  • Assemble and properly label pallets according to customer specifications.
  • Remove empty pallets and stretch-wrap from racks.
  • Adjust inventory as necessary.
  • Verify quantity, SKU, and lot of tile through visual inspection for order assembly.
  • Pick bulk storage items.
  • Stretch-wrap all outgoing pallets, load trailers, and adjust loading patterns for proper weight distribution.
  • Communicate pertinent issues, including safety concerns, to drivers.
  • Verify quantity, SKU, and lot on incoming pallets for receiving.
  • Transfer all incoming pallets to the appropriate end rack or storage location.
  • Manually separate mixed SKU incoming pallets and properly store material in designated racks.
  • Conduct cycle counts for inventory control.
  • Operate palletizer production line, checking equipment and supplies.
  • Operate dispatcher system (computer) for basic stock inquiry functions and operator radio data terminal.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Work any shift and overtime when required.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by management.
