About The Position

The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for storing, issuing, pulling, receiving, shipping, and conducting inventory reconciliation of all packaging and raw materials to and from dedicated production or warehouse areas. This person must have good organizational and communication skills. The primary duties for the Warehouse Associate will be carried out in a warehouse manufacturing facility. This position may require the operation of power industrial trucks such as forklifts, cherry pickers, electric pallet jacks, and sit-down forklifts. This position will involve opportunities to learn technical aspects of the business, as well as working closely with personnel in Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, Quality, and Accounting.

Requirements

  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs, regularly.
  • Understands inventory control principles.
  • Understands and implements lean practices and demand flow strategies.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Cycle counting, root cause analysis, and results reporting.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift Certification required (ability to re-certify with employer).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
  • Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring FIFO (First In First Out) of packaging material usage.
  • Operating a forklift in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a valid and up-to-date forklift certification.
  • Labeling and storing all supplies, retains, raw materials, and packaging components in correct dedicated storage areas within the warehouse facilities.
  • Coordinating activities of transferring materials to and from operating facilities internally or externally.
  • Using the RF Scanner for warehouse department operational functions of shipping, receiving, staging, replenishment, and inventory control cycle count functions.
  • Performing warehouse functions (shipping, inventory, receiving, staging, prepping, and destruction).
  • Removing trash from production and warehouse areas and placing it in the dumpster.
  • Locating items strategically to reduce wasted motion and maximize space utilization.
  • Utilizing Excel to monitor operational objectives for KPI reporting.
  • Keeping and verifying all records of operational duties assigned.
  • Conducting regular physical verification to determine the actual quantity and account for variances.
