About The Position

AFW is looking for multiple Warehouse Associates, including receiving associates, general warehouse associates, and customer load out associates in Firestone, CO. Customer load out associates pick and pull merchandise, load and unload merchandise to and from other AFW facilities, and load out customers in a safe and efficient manner. Receiving associates ensure AFW products are safely received from truck shipments into the warehouse before delivery to customers' homes. Employees are responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, identifying, and tagging merchandise. This role is ideal for individuals eager to help customers and make a difference.

Requirements

  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Ability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to operate a forklift and order picker for pulling and putting away stock, order processing, loading, and unloading trailers.
  • Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness.
  • Able to break down merchandise inside trailers/containers - unstack and position merchandise for removal from trailers/containers.
  • Able to confirm that customer receives correct merchandise.
  • Able to inspect AFW rental vehicles and fill out the appropriate paperwork.
  • Uncrate and re-create merchandise for inspection when requested.
  • Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
  • Able to operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
  • Able to correctly use a hand truck.
  • Able to safely handle product from 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Able to safely transfer products to and from pallets.
  • Inspect all power equipment and complete the Vehicle Inspection Report before operation.
  • Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.
  • Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
  • Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Requires lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. frequently and ability to handle/manipulate up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • Requires lifting, griping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
  • Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pull merchandise for customer load out.
  • Load and unload merchandise to and from other AFW facilities.
  • Load out customers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Safely receive truck shipments of AFW products into the warehouse.
  • Safely and efficiently load, unload, identify, and tag merchandise.
  • Adhere to AFW asset protection policies and identify and prevent fraud.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker.
  • Perform correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Work at heights of 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Operate a forklift and order picker for pulling and putting away stock, order processing, loading, and unloading trailers.
  • Greet customers promptly and professionally.
  • Break down merchandise inside trailers/containers - unstack and position merchandise for removal from trailers/containers.
  • Wrap, load, and secure merchandise into the customer’s vehicle without damaging the merchandise or the vehicle.
  • Confirm that the customer receives the correct merchandise.
  • Inspect AFW rental vehicles and fill out the appropriate paperwork.
  • Uncrate and re-create merchandise for inspection when requested.
  • Identify and read reports, tickets, and UPC labels.
