This role contributes to the overall effectiveness of facility operations through proper product handling, organization, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities include unloading and loading trailers, verifying product stacking and ensuring product is not mixed on pallets. The associate will ensure all customer product is accounted for, free of infestation, production codes are in check, and product is within its acceptable temperature range before placing it into storage. They will identify and recover any damaged product, report shortages and overages, and assist in physical inventories. The role involves pulling and preparing product for shipment, ensuring accuracy in quantity, type, and lot numbers. Pallets can reach up to seven feet in height. The associate will efficiently move product from staging or storage areas into railcars or trailers. Safety operation of various equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, slip-sheets, and turret trucks is required for loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and staging product. Maintaining equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, and inspecting equipment daily for safe operation are also key duties.
