About The Position

Montgomery’s is seeking a part-time Warehouse Associate to join its warehouse team in Madison, South Dakota. The role supports warehouse and delivery operations, including receiving and tracking merchandise, preparing furniture and customer orders, staging delivery loads, assisting customers with payments and documentation, and maintaining an organized, clean, and safe warehouse. The associate is expected to provide professional customer service, collaborate with teammates, and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write and have basic math skills.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 100 pounds and to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to use tools that assist with lifting and transporting large or heavy furniture.
Ability to use tools for furniture assembly and installation.
Ability to bend, lift, and carry furniture and items into customers’ homes, place them appropriately, and assemble them when required.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Ability to work well with others, promote teamwork and cooperation, and provide courteous, professional customer service.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous warehouse experience.
Knowledge of computer warehousing applications.
Experience or ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse machinery.

Responsibilities

Prepare and inspect incoming furniture shipments to ensure items meet quality standards.
Stage and organize delivery loads for efficient routing and daily operations.
Prepare customer pickup orders accurately and carefully.
Assist customers with balance payments and required documentation.
Work with leadership to resolve order discrepancies.
Use inventory systems and barcoding technology to receive, transfer, and track merchandise.
Provide professional customer interactions and represent the company appropriately in appearance and communication.
Locate and move products to support showroom displays.
Unload and receive vendor shipments following reporting and inventory procedures.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.
Use provided equipment responsibly and follow safety protocols.
Collaborate with teammates and support them as needed.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support warehouse and delivery operations.
