About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Associate in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to support warehouse fulfillment and distribution of retail items. The role involves packaging, kitting, and assembling orders; loading and unloading trailers; picking and packing; scanning; and moving materials. Associates use powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks, and may operate other warehouse or manufacturing equipment. The position pays $21.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential, with weekly pay and on-the-job paid training. Requirements

• Six months of related warehouse experience required.
• Learn to operate powered industrial trucks, such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks; intermediate operating and maintenance ability is required, including changing batteries and recognizing common mechanical issues.
• Powered industrial truck certification.
• Ability to read and perform basic mathematics in English for safety, work instructions, policies, and similar purposes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer systems in use.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Flexibility and self-motivation to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask; strong organization and time-management skills.
• Attention to detail and excellent follow-up practices.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more of related warehouse experience preferred.
• Intermediate ability to operate manual and/or automated warehouse or manufacturing equipment, such as a packaging line, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package, kit, and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers.
• Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
• Help train dock employees on new procedures.
• Ensure the facility is secure at the end of the shift; investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping concerns.
• Perform picking and packing duties.
• Check for evidence of product or container damage.
• Perform assigned tasks according to location policies and procedures, including handling materials within associated logical transactions.
• Perform material moves with associated physical and logical transactions as required.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities to support self-improvement and improve warehouse operations and related business functions.
• Perform housekeeping duties for the assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
