About The Position

As a Warehouse Associate, you will handle, move/store, pack & ship batteries. You will be responsible for shipping orders, receiving inventory and keeping the warehouse organized, clean, and clutter-free. Duties will include loading and unloading shipments, recording shipment and inventory statuses, and making sure the deliveries properly match purchase orders. Successful completion of this temporary assignment combined with demonstrated satisfactory performance, will be evaluated for a transition to full-time regular employment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience in record keeping, data entry, and stock management using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate equipment used in the warehouse, such as forklift, pallet jack, scanner, etc.
  • Frequently reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
  • Also, the ability to sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
  • May need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow shipping orders for order instructions and prepare the shipment.
  • Read and follow the shipping orders’ instructions for the type of transportation needed and prepare labels/documents.
  • Responsible for preparing shipments on-time and accurately.
  • Collect documentation for outbound freight.
  • Record the shipping activity in the company database.
  • Contact carrier representatives to arrange and provide instructions for loading shipment.
  • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Receiving duties will include unloading and unpacking shipments and checking the shipment received against the invoices.
  • Maintain an inventory count and ensure the database is updated in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and clutter-free Warehouse.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities.
  • DG/HZ handling
