About The Position

Caterpillar's Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is seeking talented Warehouse Associates at our Arvin Distribution Center. This is a full-time opportunity with comprehensive benefits starting on day one, along with excellent individual training and continued development opportunities for rapid growth within the company. Shifts available include 1st shift (Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm) and 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm, with a higher hourly rate).

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write and conduct business in English.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
  • At least 1 year in consecutive employment in previous roles.
  • Demonstrated longevity of at least one year with previous employers.
  • At least one year of current warehouse work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually, walk, sit, stand, squat, and bend over repetitively, throughout your shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Consistent usage of required PPE and safety procedures for tasks being performed.
  • Reliable, on-time attendance record; Ability to efficiently reach productivity goals.
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
  • Eagerness to learn processes and procedures in multiple areas.
  • Ability to properly perform quality checks.
  • Focus on accuracy to provide customers with the best possible experience.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Perform a variety of clerical functions as needed and understand basic math.
  • Pass a background screening.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Pass a post-offer medical questionnaire - clearance from Corporate Medical.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operation of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform material handling and warehousing processes in receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate a handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing.
  • Willingness to be trained on and operate cherry/order pickers, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and overhead cranes/hoists, as well as other tasks in the operation.
  • Report defects and the need for repairs.
  • Utilize pneumatic tools and/or power tools to build and construct wooden shipping containers.
  • Utilize tools for the application of paint and rust preventative.
  • Perform housekeeping functions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and be on time to meet customer needs efficiently and safely.
