About The Position

Seashore Fruit & Produce Co. is hiring! We are starting up operations in Florence, NJ and have an immediate need to hire multiple warehouse associates. We are seeking candidates that have enthusiasm for quality food and love working in a fast-paced environment. Each team member must have the ability to perform multiple functions and positions as necessary to ensure efficient and effective warehouse operations. Applicants must have experience operating a forklift and other equipment (i.e. pallet jack) as necessary. The inaugural shift is 7am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. Please note that we ramp up operations shifts and scheduled hours may change.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 2-3 years working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to navigate our company technologies (CRM, ERP, and routing programs).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Proficiency in speaking, writing and reading English is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding organization skills are a plus
  • Pass pre-employment testing (background and drug screen).
  • Experience operating a forklift and other equipment (i.e. pallet jack) as necessary.
  • Extensive understanding of fresh produce— including food safety, quality, warehousing, storage, and shipping.
  • General understanding of computer-based inventory systems.
  • Knowledge of “FIFO” - First in, first out.

  • Identify and communicate issues related to food safety, product quality, etc. to Supervisor.
  • Ability to read and understand order picking sheets.
  • Ability to use general warehouse equipment (e.g. hand jacks, power jacks, and forklifts).
  • Learn to “build” pallets of product.
  • Communicate with supervisor to ensure that the orders are being picked in the correct timeline to coincide with the way that the routes are leaving the warehouse.
  • Stage orders for our loaders allow them to load trucks in an orderly way.
  • General cleaning skills.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.
  • Being a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
