About The Position

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division is hiring Warehouse Associates for its Clayton Distribution Center in Clayton, Ohio. The role supports customers by moving parts from distribution centers to where they are needed. Work may include sorting parts, building protective engine carriers, and operating warehouse equipment. Not all available positions require equipment operation. Associates safely perform material-handling and warehousing processes related to receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies. They use handheld scanners to access and update information, may build wooden shipping containers using pneumatic or power tools, apply paint and rust preventative, report equipment defects and repair needs, and perform housekeeping and other assigned duties. The position is based at the Clayton Distribution Center. The listed first shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; second- and third-shift options are also described. The work environment may have frequently changing temperatures, and overtime may be required. Candidates must pass the stated pre-employment screenings.

Requirements

Demonstrate at least twelve consecutive months of longevity in previous employment.

Responsibilities

Safely perform material handling and warehousing processes for receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
Operate handheld scanners to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing.
Be willing to train on and operate cherry/order pickers, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and overhead cranes or hoists, as required by the available position.
Report defects and identify the need for repairs.
Use pneumatic and/or power tools to build and construct wooden shipping containers.
Use tools to apply paint and rust preventative.
Perform housekeeping functions as required.
Perform other duties assigned by Caterpillar management.
