About The Position

This position is contingent on employment on a Federal Installation, which requires the applicant to pass a federal background investigation. The role involves breaking down merchandise case by case, placing it on designated pallets for stocking in main store, freezer, and refrigerated sections. This position is related to merchandise breakdown and segregation and requires meeting a production rate of cases per hour to fulfill essential job performance. A warehouse/FDS employee performs the contract requirements of the receiving/storage/holding area function by offloading trucks, sorting, and segregating merchandise, and sorting and pulling merchandise to and from warehouse racks. The RSH function will be accomplished during the contract window of opportunity.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a federal background investigation.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisors and fellow workers.
• Active Learning - Understanding the mechanics of the position and able to learn and perform.
• Able to take directions.
• Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
• Must be able to perform segregation of merchandise and placement on pallets to meet the minimal standard of handling 250 cases of merchandise per hour.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Must reach from 6-72 inches.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Breaking down merchandise case by case that has been delivered.
• Placing merchandise on a pallet that is designated to be placed in aisles for stocking, in main store and freezer sections and refrigerated sections.
• Offloading trucks, sorting, and segregating the merchandise.
• Sorting and pulling of merchandise to and from the warehouse racks.
