About The Position

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of labor-related tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food and donated products including pulling orders, unloading deliveries, repacking food products, operating warehouse equipment, and general maintenance and cleanup.

Must exhibit excellent customer service skills
Must possess good interpersonal skills, including the ability to give kind and appropriate directions to volunteers
Must have the ability to maintain a level of professionalism, promoting the Facing Hunger Foodbank’s community spirit and mission
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Must have a valid driver’s license from State in which employee resides
Must have and maintain a safe driving record
Must have the ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a repetitive basis and, occasionally, up to 75 pounds
Must have a current Fork Lift and Pallet Jack Certification or ability to become certified
Must pass the ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 3 months of starting in position
Must be able to master the use of the inventory software and bar code scanners within 3 months of starting position

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Three months or more warehouse experience and/or training preferred

Responsibilities

Assists in loading and unloading delivery vehicles
Is responsible for stocking food and non-food products in the warehouse
Picks client and program orders and assists with client pickups to ensure that the invoices match the order provided to the client
Ensures shrink wrap and pallet tags are neat, free of debris and legible
Assists with housekeeping of both Foodbank equipment and buildings
Directs and assists warehouse volunteers as appropriate
Assists in verifying food safety standards are met for products and packaging materials through visual inspection, product handling, and temperature monitoring, as applicable
Complies with all other aspects of the Foodbank’s food safety programs, policies, and procedures
Assists the Warehouse Director with opening and closing the warehouse daily in accordance with policies and procedures
Assists the Warehouse Director in with both daily cycle counts and monthly inventory, counting, and reconciliation
Maintains current certifications and medical cards as mandated by Foodbank, state, and federal requirements
Provides local, non-CDL driving as needed
Performs other related duties, as requested or assigned
