Slate Core Values: Be Different | Bring It | Elevate | Own Your Craft | Know Your Impact About the role: As a Warehouse Associate in our Slate studio, you will play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly by receiving and inspecting deliveries, organizing inventory, and staging materials for our installation teams. This is a hands-on, physically active role in a fast-paced warehouse environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential. You’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, support multiple teams, and make a visible impact every day. Requirements

  • Furniture installation experience (highly preferred)
  • Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Highly organized, manage your time well, and can prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset to support internal teams.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, staging materials, unloading deliveries, and occasional site work.
  • Forklift experience (preferred) and are willing to obtain certification through company training.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record for occasional use of company vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills and are familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and are willing to learn new software systems to support inventory management and order processing (e.g., SnapTracker and Hedberg).
  • Dependable and punctual, demonstrating consistent attendance and commitment to scheduled hours.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, a positive attitude, and work well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and inspect incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices, reporting any damaged or missing items promptly.
  • Organize, label, store, handle, and transport materials safely, including fragile or hazardous items, in designated warehouse locations following warehouse procedures.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling materials accurately according to project and customer requirements.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse by managing inventory layout, keeping aisleways clear, and supporting efficient studio operations.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse and installation teams to manage priorities, adapt to changing schedules, and keep materials moving efficiently.
  • Deliver materials to job sites as needed using company vehicles, including 24-foot box trucks and cargo vans.
  • Stay informed by reviewing the warehouse calendar and regularly checking email and Microsoft Teams for schedules, priorities, and updates.
  • Follow all safety policies and regulations while in the warehouse, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and work boots at all times.
