About The Position

This role provides manual and clerical inventory support in processing and verifying merchandise/cartons. The associate will be responsible for checking and inspecting cartons for accurate quantity and condition, preparing cartons for processing by locating, preparing, and affixing labels, packing, labeling, and scanning cartons, and sorting and routing cartons. Additionally, the role involves entering information into inventory systems, loading, unloading, and picking, and preparing merchandise for distribution. This includes checking, inspecting, and logging data into inventory systems, preparing merchandise for inventory and distribution, and visually inspecting merchandise to determine disposition. The associate will also enter data into online systems and perform stock handling tasks such as packing, unpacking, banding, assembling, sorting, routing, and weighing merchandise. Moving cartons manually or mechanically and operating simple warehouse equipment are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires the ability to understand and follow instructions, use elementary arithmetic, and be familiar with contemporary merchandise processing equipment, warehouse equipment, and inventory systems. The ability to learn computer processing systems, work efficiently, and resolve discrepancies is essential. Physical demands include frequent lifting of 0-30 lbs and occasional lifting of 30-75 lbs.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow general and/or written instructions.
  • Involves the use of elementary arithmetic.
  • Familiarity with use of contemporary merchandise processing equipment (i.e. hand-held scanners).
  • Familiarity with use of warehouse equipment and inventory systems.
  • Ability to learn computer processing systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently.
  • Ability to determine which prescribed steps to take to process problem cartons and to resolve identified discrepancies.
  • Frequent 0 - 30lbs lifting.
  • Occasional 30 - 75lbs lifting.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience in the same or related tasks is preferable.
  • Must have an Achiever rating, or higher, on 2017 Performance Appraisal (Internal Candidates).
  • Those with Policy Violations issued within the last 12 months will not be considered (Internal Candidates).
  • Information regarding current family members working in the same facility location must be reported when submitting the application. Failure to do so will disqualify the Associate from consideration (Internal Candidates).

Responsibilities

  • Inspects merchandise visually to determine disposition, as assigned.
  • Enters/logs appropriate data into on-line systems, as required.
  • Performs one or more stock handling tasks, such as packing, unpacking, banding, and assembling merchandise.
  • Sorts and routes merchandise.
  • Weighs merchandise.
  • Moves cartons from one location to another, either manually or mechanically.
  • Picks, labels, and scans, as required.
  • Operates simple warehouse equipment as necessary.
  • Performs other related manual tasks, as assigned.
