About The Position

U.S. LUMBER, an SBP company is currently looking for a Warehouse Associate to assist with grounds to join our VALUES based organization who is responsible, at various points, for cleaning the warehouse, riding a sweeper, and general cleaning. In addition to loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting, and otherwise handling products that come into and move out our Smithfield, NC warehouse. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Individuals must always follow U.S. Lumber safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
Must have basic math and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

Prior lumber experience desired.
Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
Team Lead/Shift supervisor experience is preferred.
Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative.

Responsibilities

General Labor
Riding the sweeper to sweep warehouse floors.
General cleaning/housekeeping duties
Off-loading and packaging lumber.
Safely operate forklift and other machinery
Band, wrap, tape product
Maintain work area and be organized
Identify and read tickets, SKUs, UPC labels and reports
Great attention to detail and accuracy - be able to stand and work on your feet throughout shift as normal routine
Be able to bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, push, pull, move, and lift to 50lbs
Work in an outside warehouse environment
Follow all safety procedures
Work in a team environment
