About The Position

Parts Authority, founded in 1973, is a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools/equipment, and transmissions. Headquartered in Long Island, New York, the company is rapidly expanding and currently has more than 300 locations across various states. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for virtually all day-to-day tasks that keep the warehouse running efficiently.

Requirements

  • Accurately follow directions, both written and verbal.
  • Maintain individual productivity and quality standards according to department requirements.
  • Regularly lift, push, pull and/or move objects 10-50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb (ladders and/ or stairs) or balance.
  • May be subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • May be required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

  • Must be able to work well with other staff members and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years Warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, processing, labeling, and storing incoming stock.
  • Maintaining clear records on all inventory and stock.
  • Scan items into the warehouse management system.
  • Inspecting all stock for damages and keeping records of damages.
  • Organizing the warehouse space.
  • Preparing orders for shipment.
  • Picking orders for shipment.
  • Recording exact arrival and departure times for shipments.
  • Operating stock management tools: for example, powered industrial equipment and pallet jacks.
  • Counting stock and keeping inventory records.
  • Routine cleaning duties.
  • Interface with management to ensure key objectives are realized.
  • Maintain safety regulations and compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Securing and transferring cash or other assets.
