About The Position

We are seeking a safety and service-oriented Warehouse Associate – Shipping & Receiving to join our Warehouse team. This role is crucial for providing an excellent customer experience through accurate fulfillment of customer orders. The associate will be responsible for various warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping. Key responsibilities include counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material, stocking and maintaining the warehouse, and picking, documenting, and packing customer orders. The role requires a high attention to detail to ensure customer satisfaction and proper handling of shipping discrepancies. The associate will also identify and store nonstock, special-order, and damaged material, complete necessary documentation for shipments, and safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts. Communication with supervisors regarding stock depletions, discrepancies, or damaged merchandise is essential. The role also involves maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, assisting co-workers, and adhering to all company safety standards and training programs. Shipping and receiving duties are primary, but the selected candidate must be willing to assist with all warehouse operations as needed.

Requirements

1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, order picking, and material handling
Experienced in receiving inbound shipments, verifying quantities, inspecting materials for damage, and accurately documenting receipts
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Ability to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
Ability to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred
Experience in a wholesale distribution, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial warehouse environment is preferred
Able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.

Responsibilities

Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
Handling all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forwarding appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle.
Identifying nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and storing in proper warehouse locations.
Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
Loading and unloading trucks, operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
Ensuring security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety. Removing empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
Informing immediate supervisor of safety issues.
Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
Performing other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Assisting with all warehouse operations as needed.
